Midas Gold Mining is a Canadian gold exploration, development, and production company with a strong footprint in the La Ronge Gold project – a region known for its rich deposits and historic mining operations.
Midas Gold Mining has built a strong foundation by acquiring two ready to produce properties in the area – Golden Heart & Bingo from the previous producer Golden Band Resources Inc..
Our current operations focus on advancing and developing key assets, including the Golden Heart Deposit, Bingo Deposit, and the Jolu Mill. Guided by decades of mining and drilling expertise, we remain committed to responsible exploration and sustainable gold production that contributes to both local communities and global markets.
Senior Leadership & Management
David Yang – Director & Executive
David Yang holds a degree in Economic Information Management and brings more than 20 years of senior management experience in mineral exploration, development, and corporate finance. In China, he spent over a decade in international trade of bulk commodities, specializing in pig iron and industrial metals, before transitioning into mineral resource development and downstream steel fabrication plant operations. Since relocating to Canada, Mr. Yang has overseen project financing, mineral project evaluations, extraction operations, and international banking transactions for mining projects.
David Thornley-Hall – Director
Mr. Thornley-Hall previously served as Executive Vice President of Western Potash Corp. until 2016. During his tenure, he played a key role in attracting two separate strategic investments with a combined value of more than $110 million. He brings significant expertise in corporate development, financing, and strategic partnerships within the mining sector.
Stephen Letwin – Director
Stephen Letwin is a seasoned business leader with a career spanning over 30 years in the energy and mining industries. He served as President and CEO of Iamgold Corporation from 2010 until his retirement in 2020, where he successfully led the company’s gold mining operations across the Americas and West Africa. Prior to Iamgold, he held several senior executive roles at Enbridge Inc., including Executive Vice President of Gas Transportation & International.
Garry Cairns – Operations
With over 40 years of experience in processing plant operations, Garry Cairns has an extensive background in managing and optimizing production. During his time at Golden Band Resources (2010–2012), his leadership helped the company achieve and even exceed production efficiency targets.
Aidi Li – Corporate Finance
Aidi Li brings over 10 years of experience in international financial mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate financing. She has advised and structured transactions across multiple sectors, contributing expertise in global capital markets and cross-border investment.
Gordon Reed – Technical Advisor
Gordon Reed is a Professional Mining Engineer with more than 30 years of operational and contracting experience in shaft, tracked, and trackless hardrock underground mining. His career spans projects in Africa, Canada, the United States, Ireland, Mongolia, and Russia, bringing deep technical knowledge and hands-on expertise to the team.
